Caps and gowns must be worn by all in-person ceremony participants.  Please review the university’s Adornment Policy as it relates to regalia (cap and gown) during Commencement.  

Important information regarding ordering your regalia:

Bachelor’s degree:
You will be receiving regalia that will be yours to keep. Place your order via this website and have your regalia shipped to your home or shipped to Vanderbilt University for on-campus pick up May 7-9, 8:30 am to 7:00 pm. Orders shipped to your home will incur a shipping fee.

Master’s degree:
You will be receiving regalia that will be yours to keep. Place your order via this website and have your regalia shipped to your home or shipped to Vanderbilt University for on-campus pick up May 7-9, 8:30 am to 7:00 pm. Orders shipped to your home will incur a shipping fee.

Doctoral degree:
There are two options available if you would like to receive your Doctoral regalia.

  1. You can order your rental regalia via this site and have it shipped to Vanderbilt University for on-campus pick up May 7-9, 8:30 am to 7:00 pm.  Rental regalia can be returned to Vanderbilt Bookstore on May 10-14.  
  2. You can purchase your fine quality Vanderbilt University regalia to be shipped to your home address.  Purchase your fine quality regalia here.  Please note, fine quality orders placed after March 1, 2024 will not arrive before your May ceremony.

Graduates who do not order regalia by the deadlines listed above will need to order during regalia distribution at the Vanderbilt Bookstore May 7-10 and will incur a $10 late fee.


  Students MUST have regalia to walk in the ceremony without exception.
